I get a call today from Mathew Clark. He told me he was with Russwood of Lincoln and he saw my ad (we have it on Craig's List) for our SUV and they were very interested in it. We talked about the mileage, condition of the vehicle and what we owed on it which is $8k. These types of SUV'S with similar miles and condition sell at around 10-11k. I told him that we wanted to get rid of our payment and trade down to a auto that we could own out right, a cheap car for $500.00 to $2000.00. Mathew said they had some cars like that on their lot. He wanted us to come right down with the SUV so they could look at it and as they were very interested in a seven passenger SUV. My wife had the car with her and worked until 5:00pm. They just had to see it and were very interested. So my wife took off early from work so we could take it to Russwood of Lincoln. When we got to Russwood they stuck us in an office about 8x8. Get the feeling scam right off the bat and that Mathew is low man on the totem pole. Mathew then tells us his appraiser is going to look at it. As they took it for a drive, Mathew disappeared for the same amount of time. We knew then it was a scam. The Russwood appraiser comes back with our SUV and Mathew comes out of the backroom about the same time. With papers in hand that had the trade in value on it. Also our Suv has a small ding on back bumper which I told him about right away. No big deal right! Now its a big deal! They tell us its worth $6000.00 trade in value. How stupid they must think we are. We never talked about trading in on a new car. He knew we needed 8k out the auto. Just a scam to get us on the lot an sell us a car, Rip us off from our vehicle, then turn around and sell it for 4 or 5 thousand dollar profit. Russwood called me! I did not stumble onto their lot trying to pawn my auto on them. We put the auto on Craig's List trying to get an honest buyer.instead we get another scamer that cruises Craig's List trying to make a buck. This was a total waste of time for me and my wife. If they call you and are interested your auto dont waste your time with these crooks. They did confirm one thing for me though. The SUV is well worth the price we are asking and has a demand do to its 7 passenger seating. They just wanted to take advantage of us.
