I worked for this company as an independent contractor for approximately one month. Lee Merch was the person who hired me and during the interview he conveniently forgot to mention that they take 10% of your paycheck and hold it in case of chargebacks and that it's YOUR responsibility to call them to request your money back. The only reason I knew about it is because when I read the contract (I'm one of the few people who actually reads what he signs.) He also forgot to mention that I had to pay for the polo shirt.
At this point I should've listened to my instincts and shook hands and walked out the door. But I naively did not. And there was continuous problems. First off they tried to treat me like I was employee (ex requiring meeting attendance and trying to enforce a schedule) now if you want to treat me like an employee then you better pay me like an employee i.E. A base. But the real fraud came when they deducted money for the background check and polo shirt! I never agreed to this and I've been trying to get them to send me a copy of the contract but they continue to ignore me. I filed a wage complaint with the state for the simple reason that I will not be cheated if I can help it.
Bottom line is: don't work for this company ever!
