First off anyone who is looking for a lawyer for a DUI dont do it, especially if you are going to Law Offices of David Michael Cantor. First off the first initial meeting makes you feel great because they really make you think they will get you off. They told me that my case would be easy and no big deal. Then immediately wanted money, which I understand you need money to start a case. Well long story short my case went on from August until February. They never would call me and update me. I had to continously call and I was never able to talk to my lawyer. They said they would call back and never would. They said they would send me papers stating when I needed to go to court and they would call. I never got the papers. They never called I constantly called in fear of missing my court date. I missed work numerous times because they kept extending it to the judge and lost a lot of money. I paid them $5000.00 for them to not show up at all sometimes at court or they would show up an hour late. Finally they decided to file a motion to withdraw from the case. They did not get any of my charges knocked down at all. I freaked out because I was $5000.00 out and had to sign up for financial aid because i used my college money because they said they would get me off because "it was a piece of cake case". I did not know what to do because I would have gotten a regular dui, a underage dui, speeding ticket, and an alcohol in my blood ticket and on top of that somehow pay for my fines, jail and my breathalyzer. I hired a public defender for $100.00 and he knocked three out of the four charges off. I walked off with a regular dui. I was frustrated and called The Law Offices of David Michael Cantor numerous times because I wanted my money back because they promised me what they couldnt give me and for everything they put me through. They only yelled and said many things I dont think lawyers should say to their clients. Finally I decided I would turn them into the state bar. If they wanted to play games I would play them back. They freaked out and said they would pay for my $2000.00 charges I was charged with. I agreed to that. Little did I know after talking to many people they are known for doing this to people and we need to stop them. If you have run into things liek this turn them in to the State Bar of Arizona.
In the end I have spent over $10,000.00 because of them. Oh and their trick in the beginning at your consultation is that one they will get you off because its an easy case and two theres only a two percent chance you will go to trial but with your case you wont. Well they pulled that on me that I needed to go to trial and it would be another $5000.00. When I wouldnt pay to go to trial they filed a motion to withdraw. I have an entire story of everything they have done to me including dates times and everything. I have every email they have sent me and to my dad. I have talked to a lawyer about what had happened and he told me that it is malpractice these people are commiting and I need to do something about it.
