I was in a situation were I had to refinance, I did with Eastern Savings Bank. The day of closing, I had found out that my interest was 12.99%. I also did not get the loan I was suppose to. I was suppose to get $20,000 more than I did. I had to pay at closing. The whole loan had been changed without my knowledge. Now I face foreclose and they do not want to help me. I was told to sell my house. Tried that, market is bad. The bank returned my 2 payments and when I questioned that, they said my account was sent to the lawyer. I never received anything from the lawyer until after I got my returned payments. They gave me a loan payment that is of what my income shows a month, and they know that. I feel that they trick you into the loan to later get your house and make money off it. They need to be stopped. They also do not report anything to the credit bureau. It doesn't show that I have a mortgage at all. They are a scam.
