In late February I purchased Adam Ginsbergs 'Secrets of an Auction Millionaire' "package" after a very well orchestrated presentation in Orlando Florida at a Rich Dad / Poor Dad seminar, where different solutions are offered. (I will state here that I made a few other purchases at this event, as well as from Rich Dad itself before, which I have had NO problems with.)
I spent a month working with this offering (really half a month since it took the other half for them to get it working). What I purchased was to include a 3 day training weekend however none was made available to me. It took a week for them to get to me, after I signed up, and another 10 days for the software to work properly due to some bugs in the way I was initally setup.
After it was functional, the software also proved to be quite unimpressive, basically offering an interface to a drop shipper, and a html generator for you to cut and paste into your ebay, craiglist, overstock.com or other reseller locations.
The software is offered on the web for $1, with monthly charges to follow. It was rather a shock to have laid out nearly $2000 and then see this - hence it was clear that my 'investment' was not really this software. I received 5 email video's admittedly after they turned on the software for me, showing one how to use the software, however these same emails are made available for the person paying $1.
In summary, the software appears to be useful perhaps (with a bit more work) but at present is very 'skinny' in what it does (the drop shipper offers similar if not as fancy interfaces to ebay and other selling sites.) It also creates many SQL errors (sign that it is still in beta mode) if you don't do things exactly right. People responding to problem tickets seem trained to never acknowledge a software problem in the trouble ticket itself, although they may do so on the phone.
If I was to use it, I would not think paying $14-$20 a month to host (which is what it costs after the first month) is a way I would want to go, in that seems a lot for 'hosting of photos and html' which is basically what it is.
My problem was that I did NOT get the value I paid for up front, (stated value $4,997) in that there was no 3 day workshop provided. I am told that they may offer one someday in my area in the next 24 months - that is not what I paid for.
I have notified my credit card, and Rich Dad, and done so in writing as well. As expected, Adam Ginsbergs office response (staff person "Sara") is that they don't owe me anything since I didn't quit within 3 days of signing. (Forgetting the fact that what they sold me didn't even get activated for weeks after signing, nor has any of the promised training even been scheduled, let alone taken).
I informed her that a contract is between both sides, and no software was received, nothing is to be returned, and no 3 day workshop was given or taken AND that the programs did NOT work as advertised. I stated that if that is the position of her company (she was not willing to let me talk to anyone else) then I would have to take this to the public airways (e.G. Usacomplaints.com, etc.). I did not wish to have to post this complaint here but it appears that this company is more hype and does NOT stand behind what they are offering. Buyer beware.
