I did not google for customer reviews of Minimax before sending them a check. I wish I had. They have sent me statistics that are undergraduate level at best, with glaring errors. They basically told me that my hypotheses weren't true, but they hadn't performed basic model diagnostics, and fit an incorrect model.
Even my non-statistics boyfriend remembered that I had to normalize all variables before using in any inferential statistics (he caught that error!). Worse, the "methods" they sent included a description and explanation of the estimation procedure, and it was close to plagiarized from a statistics textbook. On top of that, they had screwed up their plagiarism! The whole thing made no sense, is assuredly not dissertation quality - in sum, it is worthless. They have taken my time, my money, and given me false hope that I could meet a deadline. Now I am past my deadline and out several thousand dollars.
I would take other reviewers comments seriously: if you are going to use them, do not pay up front. It is industry standard to pay for product, not before.
I would also cast a suspicious eye on the positive reviews they post on their website. Ask them for references. If these people are willing to support them, they should also be willing to speak to you on the phone.inquire as to the level of expertise that they required from minimax; I'd guess that most of the glowing reviews come from people who need ANOVA.
