About a week ago two guys sold me a magazine subscription for $40. They wanted me to buy from both of them, but I only decided to buy one magazine. Anyway, once they left I decided that I had spent too much money and decided to mail the cancellation slip the next day.
Well I got on the internet today to look up the company to see if I could get a phone number to call to make sure my subscription was cancelled, and instead I got this website with numerous people complaining that the whole cancellation system was a fraud.
So I just called my bank and spent $30 on a hold, but I guess its better than Palmetto Inc taking out the $40 check and getting their money, leaving me in the dust. Hopefully the check will not clear before the hold takes effect because I do not want that company to get any of my money. The bottom line: don't buy anything from people you don't know. Unless they are girl scouts; I've never heard of people getting ripped off by girl scouts:)
