I saw the Google Pro Ad on the internet several times and decided to send for the home guide to establich your own internet biz from home. The cost was $3.88 4.95 shipping. Received the disk 2 weeks later or thereabout. Entered the disk in my computer only to learn it contained a series of. Exe files which were totally useless to me trying to figure out what the program was about.
I had to travel from October through Dec 22 and finally got home to read my email and regular mail. I noticed that my Visa account had been charged $72.21 in October, November and December by a company named Internetinitiative and also $38.84 by Bargainhub in Utah. As I had never done business with both of these companies I contacted Internetinitiative on 12/23 and again 12/31/08 only to find that I was being charged for some kind of subscription which I had never ordered. I merely wanted to learn what the Google-Pro was to see if I would be interested in going further with it.
I was informed that I should have cancelled the subscribtions within 7 days if I did not want it. These terms and conditions were not clearly communicated to me before in my dialog with the staff at Google Pro. I am now out of pocket $255.37 and they are unwilling to waive the charges. This is a SCAM at best and people need to know this before they get fooled like I did. I hope and trust that The Google Company is not part of this scam. I believe a Class Action Suit would be appropriate at this time.
