Brinkerhoff’s appliance located

BRINKERHOFF’S APPLIANCE located at 533 4th St, Bremerton, WA 98337Phone 360-377-4411 Owner Richard Brinkerhoff UBI #601-766-781DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM - BEWARE LIARS, AND CHEATS. Rick of Brinkerhoff's Appliance came to our home to repair a fan assembly on a range top stove this week. We told Debbie (the person who answers the phone for the company and schedules repair calls) to order and bring all parts for the fan assembly including the knob in order to make the necessary repairs to the fan. After replacing the fan switch, Rick spent over 1.5 hours at $60.00/hr fixing a knob that connects to the switch for the fan to turn on. Rick claimed when asked 4 separate times why he did not just order a new part he stated that the knob was "no longer available NA" and also stated that "Debbie who orders the parts said it was no longer being manufactured. "So in order to get the fan to work we felt we had no choice but to pay his expensive hourly rate. Rick even tried to use a spring from a ball point pen that we provided and also went back to his truck to disassemble a part from a refrigerator to get a spring to make the knob work to turn the fan on. Shortly after Rick pulled out of the driveway, the fan button sunk into the stove making it inoperable. We phoned to let him know immediately that his expensive repairs failed. So I called the manufacturer and low and behold Rick LIED to us. The part is available and costs a mere $7.45 much cheaper than 100.00 plus dollars labor (total bill 367.06). Rick also stated the he had made these repairs on the same stove before and that they are poorly engineered thus requiring even more time than usual to repair. Rick conned me good. He made me think he was a good guy, that he had adequately researched the parts, and had extensive experience and knowledge about the range and that there was no other option but to run up unnecessary hours fixing a $7.45 knob. Shame on you rick. While doing his work he had a conversation with me about how he hates people who try to get something for nothing. I guess rick it takes one to know one. YOUR THE EPITOME OF THE BAINBRIDGE SCUM that you complained about while running up hours erroneously. Worse yet they took payment and will not come back out to fix the fan that remains inoperable. When we told BRINKERHOFF that the part was available through the manufacturer, online (http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail. Aspx? PartID=1256863&PPStack=13) and also at a local parts dealer, Debbie stated we are no longer doing business on Bainbridge so we will not be coming out there anymore. They will not even give us a partial refund. What cheats. Now we have to pay for another service call and pay someone else to disassemble the range again in order to install the proper $7.45 replacement part into the range. Maybe next time Rick and Debbie you can call the manufacture and order the parts, instead of LYING to your clients and CHEATING then out of money by running up unnecessary repair bills for parts that can be replaced for a fraction of the cost. Rick also stated while I was helping him by turning off the power and balancing the stove top that he taught his kids the concept that "you are only as good as your word." Well Rick, I guess that means that you are no good. Shame on you. See photo of part worth S7.45.
