Newspaper Ad placement ripoff, cashiers checks are fake

Beware of Sprath software, Pro Starnet Ads from Munich, Germany. Also using website www.mac-werbung.De - they are fraudulent company trying to use ripoff for work at home style scam. Sprath software will contact you about a position placing ads in newspapers in US. The ads are for employment opportunities in Europe. They say they can't pay for the ads from Germany so they need someone in the US to do it for them. They pay $100 per ad placed. That is great pay for 5 minutes work. They will send you a cashier's check for the amount of the ad plus your commission. Then you must send payment for the ads to a company and then you "suposedly" get to keep your ridiculously large commission. The ads must be placed within 48 hours of "clearing" the check.

However, my friend at the bank said the check would clear in 48 hours due to regulations but could take 2 weeks to a month to really be valid. The checks are fake. And after placing the ads, you will be on the hook for the amount of the money spent for the ads plus penalties and fees from the bank. But what is in it for them?

It sound so good. Big money commissions for placing ads. Easy, right? So I though what do they have to gain from me spending my money placing ads. Well, I got the cashiers check, deposited it and the money was available (by law the bank has to release the funds even though they dont collect them for 2 to 4 weeks).

Now the company wants me to send the funds to Pro Starnet Ads instead of placing the ads directly with the newspapers. That is the catch. The money goes to their shell company and they keep all the funds, no newpaper ads get placed, you are out all the money for the ads ($1915 for 3, one line employment ads) and the money for the bounced check. Employment ads dont cost $600 each for a one line ad.

And, why can't they send the cashiers check to Pro Starnet Ads directly? They can, if this was a legitimate business. But they don't because this is a fraud, a scam, a ripoff.

Don't be fooled by the ease of the work. Don't be fooled by the check clearing (it has to by law even though the funds are not there).

It is easy to replicate cashiers check nowadays with laser printers. IF you are contacted, stay away. IF you must see for yourself, at least ask a banker or check the FDIC website for info on bogus cashiers checks.
Be warned or suffer the consequences.
