A Dish Network Call Center apparently has the phone number 801-207-8262.
My family receives 2-4 calls per day from this number attempting to sell us Dish Network. I used the automated system (press "3" to be removed from our list") to remove myself. Obviously that hasn't worked. I spoke to operators several times. They just hung up.
Next time, I lied and said that I was interested in service, but would need to call back (not the most ethical approach I realize, but I didn't know how else to get the number). They refused to give out their number because -get this - "we are worried about receiving too many calls in our call center each day." I said, "Funny you should mention that because I have the same problem." The operator yelled at me, "So you think you're slick do ya? See what happens when you try to get our phone number?! Stay on the line and we'll take you off our list." The line disconnected. They called again about two hours later.
I used my last call return service (*69) to get the phone number. I called it back and it had an automated answering service identify itself as Dish Network. After a greeting, it gave me the option to remove myself from their list. I left a message asking to be removed. They have not responded.
I have also called Dish Network's customer service number. A very polite operator who shared her name and I.D. Number with me took my name and number and said that within 30 days she would remove my number. We'll see how well that works. I suspect that this call center is not very closely affiliated with the number that has been harassing me.
All I know is that they are trying to sell Dish Network and the number is from somewhere in Utah. Our number is on the federal "do not call" list. We have told them time and again to stop calling. What else can we do?
