In the mail I received what looked like and is a legitimate check for the amount of $5,090. The letter that was enclosed was from 'Publishers Clearing House' and said that my name was the 3rd place winner of 15 million dollars that was sponsored by Martha Stewart Living Magazine. It wanted me to call a Mrs. Ruth Hastings @ 888-690-9889 for more details BEFORE I cashed the check and this was to cover an expenses that PCH didn't cover. It even went as far as referring me to a 'Internal Revenue Agent' to handle my file, Mr. Harvey Armstrong.
Instantly I knew this was a scam. I went to the PCH website and did some research on the net. The letter also had some grammatical error which is usually a big sign that something is a scan. I hope people know that when they deposit this check and it bounces they are liable for all charges and the people who scam you will take all monies in your account.
Please disseminate as much as possible because this is very enticing for people who aren't aware or just naive to these kind of things.
