This operation has been around for years. I encountered them about 13 years ago when an office called International Designs was operating on York Road in Towson Maryland. It was a huge office bringing in about 100 people 3 times a week.
The earmarks are all the same, misleading ad's in the newspaper for management jobs, promises of success (with generic success posters hanging on the wall), and lots of talk about how others have been successful.
Usually no one knows the last name of others, and people are kept busy so they don't have time to converse to much while they are working. Sometimes they engage people in various games to take their mind off of the fact that they are going broke.
The location I went to no longer exists, It was run by a man named Joe Senna and he closed after an irate man, angry over the fact that he felt ripped off, broke in to Joe's house and shot his wife. But another office called Dynasty International took it's place. I don't know where Joe went, he just disappered.
We did not have this forum all those years ago, but I am glad we have it now so I can share this info, and I must also tell you that it is not limited to Scentura Creations...
I have since seen this same method used by kitchen knife, alarm system, and childrens toy companies. As well as other products...
All most of them care about is friends and family sales. Joe Senna made hundreds of sales a week just off of the people who stayed for only two days. The people who stayed longer only made trickle sales...
The bad news about the office's that sell Scentura Creations is:
1. Scentura Creations itself is legaly shielded from the sales and has no resposibility for the actions of the independently operated offices.
2. Even if a local office is shut down, they can just reopen under a different name or move to another location or area anywhere and just continue on (I was told this by Joe Senna years ago and It seem that after a decade it is still true).
3. All sales people become another layer of indepentent contractors so the local office is just as shielded from the law as the distributor. This means you are resposible for your legal problems if something goes wrong and you are not working under another persons license, you must get your own, or you may be in violation of the law.
4. You are not covered by workmans comp if you are injured, beacuse you are not by law an employee, and these offices don't care where they send you or what happens to you.
If any one should happen to see a man Joe Senna connected with Scentura Creations, do not let him con you, he is from the devil's spawning ground. RUN, do not walk in the opposite direction. He could be anywhere, under any office name.
