I too have received letters from Saint Matthews Churches or Prayers By Letters.in the first letter they had sent me they sent me a paper that looked liked a rug that I was suppose to kneel on and say this special prayer enclosed and then I was to send it back with a seed. I choose not too at this time.
The next letter I received was just like the last, but only this time supposedly it was contained with holy oil and this message told me to put this piece of paper under my pillow and to sleep with it by me all night long and send it back with my seed and then of course I sent 100.00 and now I was suppose to promise to take a financial vow, a Seed Harvest Plan.
Shortly after that I had received another letter stating that I was to put the pennys they had sent to me in my shoes that I was going to where the next day. One in the left and one in the right and was instructed to leave them there all night. The next day I was to get up and walk a couple of steps and take the pennys out and put one on each side of my entrance door and then send my promise of Seed of Success commitment. I sent them $200.00 at this point.
Then shortly after that I got this envelope that said in big bold letters across the whole front of the envelope ITS HERE! My seeds of successes biblical seed harvest plan with all kinds of the same literature as well as a coupon payment booklet now so that I could send them a certain amount of money all the time.
By this time, I started to wonder after reading over all the material that had been sent to me AGAIN! Something inside of my heart began to stir. I have heard of sowing a seed but this was absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately, $300.00 later and some real time being spent with God, I began to feel in my spirit that this whole thing was wrong, like GOD himself had told me that this isnt real and I began to search the web and came across this site.
Now I regret not coming any sooner because now Im out $300.00 which is a lot of money to me since Im only on SSI and receive a fixed income every month. I think this is so disgusting that people can prey on people like this. I have never had any problem sowing for Gods work but the way that they do it is appalling and now I cant even take care of my bills this month.
How could I have been so blind? I should have known better and had I noticed with the first letter that this so called church could only be contacted by sending something back to a P.O. Box, I would never have responded but I guess that is too late now. These people really need to be stopped!
In closing, it is my hope that others will learn from my mistake. Im asking that others please be aware of receiving anything through the mail asking for money from a church that you dont know about because unless you know that the church is a well recognized church or one that you have been a part of or one that God has literally placed on your heart to deal with, dont make the same mistake I did. My advice to you is that you PLEASE check the web first and the envelopes as well for the return address and if it is a P.O. Box, dont even hesitate just throw it away.
