My Mother purchased a metal carport from Eagle, they came out to instal it this morning, Nov. 19 and ran over her yellow cherry tree, damaging it severly, also breaking the top from it, and it has the bark off almost all around it to the wood. When she told them not to kill her tree, they got stuck and spin making ruts in the yard.in the end they left with the carport after they had ran through the turnip patch and killed the tree and rubharb was also ran over.
When Eagle was called they had no idea who these people are, they said that these people are independent contractors that call in for orders and he (Mike) has no way to contact them. A police report was filed along with truck and trailer license numbers, but it seems that Mother is just left with a mess, and noone has any responsibility here. The guy was up in Mothers face, very disrespectful.
This was one scarey ordeal and I am wondering if they have a habit of this action to the elderly? I feel that My Mother's cherry tree should be replaced and her paid for the years that she has tried to grow it. What do you think? To speak to older people in the manor that they spoke to her isn't right either.
