I was solicited by phone with false references to official Google, CNBC, and BusinessWeek on their web site, which they are not legally affiliated with.
The offer is for free CD outlining how to get rich with Google, paying shipping only of $1.95. The trial period is for 14 days, beginning at the time of agreement to buy CD. (IN this case was 10/30/07). When asked about further charges, rep. Kept saying that is all it costs, $1.95 and you have
immediate access to your own web address, where you can put anything you want on it. You can sell your collections, poems, recipes, anything you want.
They provide no web address for such advertising. Only when you get to the final approval stage and another person gets on the phone, they add at the very end that if you decide to keep the membership, you will be charged
$29.95. They also state you can immediately cancel the membership as soon as you hang up the phone from talking with them at their web address; GRowing Rich With Google.com. The person identified themselves as
sales rep.#A460. When you hang up and up unti today, Nov. 5th
it is impossible to reach them by phone (get a recording saying due to high volume you have to hold, then they never get anyone on the line). The web address has no link available to cancel membership or to contact the company to cancel. When the billing info shows up on the credit card there is no phone number or address listed to contact them.
