On August 25, my neighbors wife, Navidad Uribe's sister called me and asked me to drop by her sister's house. I did, and was asked if I would loan Gloria Godoy $3,700 to help her get caught up with a Car Lease. I went inside my neighbors house, and asked Navidad Uribe if her sister, Gloria Godoy was credible and could be trusted. Sure Bob, she has borrowed money from us before and has always repaid us. Is Navidad Uribe an Accessory?
The Toyota Dealership of Redlands CA wanted only a Cashier's Check. I got one from my bank and took Gloria Godoy to the dealership. I was asked by the VP of Sales if I knew what was going on, and I told them only that this was a loan to help out Gloria Godoy. I gave them the check and they gave me a "receipt.
Then I found out what was going on. Gloria Godoy was 6 months behind on payments for her car, and tried to pay them with a Personal Check for $3,700 which was from a Checking Account that was closed many months ago. This is a FELONY in the State of California. Her car had already been IMPOUNDED by Toyota of Redlands. Gloria Godoy gave the Private Investigator some cash to get her car out of Impound.
When we went outside I told Godoy that I wanted my money witihin 24 hours or I was calling Law Enforcement and would also sue her in Small Claims Court. She replied that if I did that, she would file for Bankruptcy. A SCAM all the way!
I called the Riversdie County Sheriff's Department and an Officer responded. He told me to take Godoy to Small Claims Court and get a Judgment and that once I had that call Law Enforcement and they would enforce the Judgment.
I got a Judgment on January 12, and have been given the "run-around" by Law enforcement. Two of her nephews have paid me $2,000, but I'm still out $1,700. I've tried to locate her, but she is one step ahead of Law Enforcemnt and Process Servers to get her back into Small Claims Court.
I'm a Disabled Veteran and a Diabetic and a Senior Citizen who was taken advantage of by both Godoy and the Sheriff's Department. I have been in contact with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office and all he does is bounce it back to the Sheriff's Department.in turn the Sheriff Department says that since I took Godoy to Small Claims Court it is NO longer a Criminal Case, but a Civil Case.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated?
