Hi I am a 21 year old female. I live a normal life, well compared to what my three cousins know as life mine is normal I would have to say. I work full time and yet I make under $12,000 a year so I am pretty broke. I pray and hope for some kind of miracle to come to me for my three little cousins, but it has been so long and still nothing has been done. The issue is their mother, who abuses them physically and emotionally. They are 16,14, and 12. Their mother has beat the oldest since she was an infant and all three of them have seen so much bad and negative in their lives. They have seen their mother being beat by the men she has brought into the home, she even dated a well known child predator, who shortly after she dated him he was publicized on the news. The father of these children is my uncle and that is the downside of things. See Child Protective Services and the DFS refuse to believe these children suffer or deal with abuse on a daily bases because they tend to think me and my mother are just siding with the father because he is a blood relative.
The only problem with that is my uncle is a deadbeat dad also, he is behind on child support and he has never really been there, but he did try when they were younger and of course she won. The mother and father have been on and off for 15 years and in that time they have beaten each other and stabbed each other with screw drivers and other objects. They have yelled and emotionally abused each other and told the kids bad things about each other and other family members to make the kids believe they are the good one.in reality the kids should have been taken from this crazy bi-polar mother years ago, but my mother which is these 3 kids aunt has called DFS 3 times and they call the mother, Jerree and let her know they are coming a week in advance so she has time to clean up her act and her nasty house.
I forgot to mention for the past 4 years or so these children have lived without running water for most of that time and at this point they have no main heat source nor running water. They use electrical heaters that you can buy at wal-mart and these kids have become so wild from this crazy life that its just a matter of time before this old house catches fire. I saw this house and its not liveable, the city should plow it down. The floors are wood and they look like they are from 1930, the walls are painted several different colors being from when the kids were left at home for three or four days straight and they got bored. Their mother uses and brings many men into the home that may or may not be good people but I know one of them was up in the middle childs face saying he was going to beat him and he didnt care he would go to jail over it. Now how are you going to sit there and let some strange man talk to your kids like that. I would have beat him down for talking to my son like that. This mother just took the mans side, and yelled at her son. Is that a mother?
Time upon time the kids have tried to do a few things to get away from their mother because that is what they want, and me and my mother would love to take care of these children and show them to a better life. They never have food to eat in the refridgerater and they have food stamps but Jerree sells them for money or whatever else she may want. She does pay the electricity bill most of the time to my belief but what is electricity when you dont have a shower and food? They have suffered so much but no matter what me and my mother can not find a way around the laws and obviously DFS is not going to do anything for this case. Jerree just acts like the sweet little innocent caring mother but she doesnt care. I sometimes question if she loves them at all.
There is one more twist to this story also. See the oldest girl, she has a different father than the other two and by blood I am only related to the two youngest but the one that suffers the most is the oldest because she has seen and been through so much more than the other two and she has endured in more abuse. Jerree tells her that she ruins her relationships with men and causes too many problems. Jerree taunts all three of the kids with mean negative words. The oldest child is taunted with the fact that she isnt our blood and I believe Jerree hates her for that. She is alienated being told she isnt one of us, that has to make you feel unhuman. So there is another problem we are worried about running into, we dont want to split them up because together they are stronger being three against one and if we took two the oldest would only get beat more for the happenings and we dont want her in foster care. At this point we have no idea what to do. The law dont want to help, we have tried everything we know. We cant just take them from her, obviously that is kidnapping.
I need to know some legal advice on the best way to get more happening with this and without having to fork out millions of dollars I dont have. Obviously money would get them kids from this uncaring mother but that is one thing we lack. I want to know if there is a way to turn this around on her, we have help from the father because he knows what they deal with now, and he doesnt abuse them at least. This is in the best interest of the children and in no way for the father but he is willing to help along with a caring aunt, cousin, and the grandparents. We also have a few contacts of family for the oldest child so if we needed them they are there.
