In March of 1997 I had obtained employment at the Rhinelander Paper Company In Rhinelander Wisconsin. Working there was very pleasent until I started working with a troubled employee. This employee had a history of assaulting other employees and threatening motible people inside and outside of work. He had threatened myself many times, and I complained to the company.
The companys responce was that he had been there longer and he has allways been the way he is so get use to it. I obtained a restraining order in June and the Jugde had broadened the restraining order to cover every person at the PaperMill. The restraining order seemed to calm this person for a short time, but in January the hostile employee assaulted myself at work, I contacted the police emmediatly and he was arrested at work. I went to the Dr. For back pain the following day, and a week later I went to a Pscyatrist for stress and trouble sleeping over the work issues, and assault.
On Febuary 22 the company gave me a Document to sign saying if I did not sign it I would not be aloud to return to work. The company called this Document a LAST CHANCE AGREEMENT. I refused to sign it because I done nothing to recieve such a extreme measure of treatment. I became extremely depressed over the issues at work and my psyciatrist withdrew me out of work for a duration of 9 months. I was forced to sign the last chance agreement in November after my Dr released myself to work.
I work for 14 months without incident, and was terminated on the date of Jan 19. I have a pending workers copm claim, and I have filed a charge of discrimenation because of my protected class. The company has never acussed me of being a bad employee nor have they accussed myself of any wrong doing, except for the charge of wronging a union brother on the date of January 19.
I asked who was the union brother I wrong and they human resources director replied, Joe Mckinzie, the man who assaulted my self. Iam terminated now and he is still employed. His friendship with the human resources director is very strong. I need help!
