Platinum Romance is one of the biggest rip-offs on the internet. 99% of the women on there are either from Ghana; West Africa; or Russia, though they list a city and state in the USA.
After chatting with them for a while, some in as little time as 5 minutes, some in as long as 5 days, they tell you about the SOB story of how she went on vacation Ghana (who vacations in Ghana) and her boyfriend hooked up with a black girl and left her stranded in Ghana. She needs anywhere from $450.00 to $1,000.00 to get back to the USA. Or, a family member, usually both of her parents, died in a car accident in the USA, so she had to go to where her family is: Ghana.
Or, believe it or not, while you are actually chatting with her there is a horrific accident RIGHT then and either her mother dies or her brother is in a near fatal accident. Either way, she needs money NOW. She even will know how much the hospital will charge her up front. Usually $750.00. What hospital knows how much up front it will cost for medical on a near death car accident? And what hospital would charge only $750.00, even in Ghana.
I got the phone #, 2 different times, for the hospital so that I could "arrange" direct payment to the hospital. I called both times: (1) time I pretended to be calling for a taxi, and the guy on the other end of the phone said" ok, where are you at". What hospital would be taking calls for a taxi? The second time I called, for a different girl, I asked the guy how much money he/the hospital needed and he said "as much as you can send", I said "is $1,000.00 enough", he said that was a good start, that he couldn't start operating on her brother until he received my money.
Then there's the "women" from Russia. I have (10) different Russian women going at he same time, and there are only (3) sets of responses I am getting back from the (10) women. Verbatum, word for word, they answer back to me. When I call them on it, they claim it is their girlfriend, she was just checking up on me to see if I talk with other girls and she will tell her to stop. But they end up the same way: only they want to move here after e-mailing for a week, which amounts to 3-4 letters, and they go to the Travel Agency, and find out it costs more than what they thought, and need me to send to them directly between $1,200-1,450.00. One girl has now given me (2) different last names. She says her friends computer went down, and she lost the hard drive. That might me one thing that I MAY believe, because of her forgetting her last name.
One thing I will say, it has been entertaining. But, I don't know how many guys might have gotten sucked in and actually sent $. I hope I'm not the only one that was smart enough to have not sent any $. The only $ I'm into is the monthly membership (3 mos.) and (2) calls to Ghana.
Beware to any guys joining. I will say also, that I have met a couple of people that ARE real, something that I can NOT say about H* M*, (ROR REDACTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES) which is a complete joke.
