So much has been said on this subject, Sunodia International is part of the ever popular Cydcor. Melissa McAndrew is the president/owner of this independent corporate licensee.
I remeber reading these things when I was in the company and thinking they were just losers and quitters that didn't have what it took to get to the top. I can now say that I was wrong. These people just managed to smarten up before I did. This company and other Independent Corporate Licensees have torn apart lives, have put peole in debt, and have moved others cross country in the search of a dream.
Melissa engages in false practices and full out lying to her employees. Not only does she push everyone to do 12 hour days but she requires outside meetings at retaurants that most employees don't even have the money to go to.
Melissa has no stability as far as the company. She has moved multiple times over the past year and expects everyone to drive out to the new office no questions asked. The office in Waltham is the newest location, after she had everyone driving to Rhode Island. During the interviews she informs her employees not to disclose the fact the company will be relocating, in the hope the interviewee will take the job and drive 2 hours or more to the new office every day, don't forget the day starts at 7:30 am. Don't be late or Melissa will say you aren't serious about the position.
Like all Cydcor offices each rep is 100% commission! In order to disway certain employees Melissa will assign them bum territories so they leave because they aren't making any money.
This allows Melissa to stay away from firing individuals, and once you quit you better be prepared to wait for 3 months or more to get the last paycheck that you earned! She will also do this as you try to build your team, slowly but surely dwindeling it down and ensuring that you never get out.
Melissa would have you think that she is a well off and successful 20 something when in actuality she has no money! Anyone can see this by the look of her car, which recently broke down and she didn't have the money to fix it.instead she got rides to and from work by her employees, NEVER reimbursing them for gas! When they asked for some compensation for going out of their way she told them she didn't have the money to pay them.
Melissa will lie to your face and make it seem that she cares for the people in her office, I know I fell prey to it.in actuality she could care less and is only looking out for her interests.
One of the latest outrages of Sunodia is that Avie Roth, President of Cydcor, gave each office $25.00 gas cards for each rep that the owner was supposed to distribute. Did Melissa give the cards out to her employees who drive to their territories and pay for all gas and maintenance out of their own pocket? NO! Melissa kept the cards!
Melissa will make it seem as if its an honor when you get to go on a road trip, but be prepared to spend more money then you will make on the roadtrip and to sleep in other peoples homes, not hotel rooms. At the same time you will probably incur expenses that are company related becasue you will be taking care of your team and will Melissa reimburse you? NO!
As for holidays and vacations be prepared not to take any! Melissa makes you work every day, even if it's pointless because maybe you find a handful of businesses that are open, don't get me wrong I closed sales on holidays, but when you add up the time that I spent going to locked doors and the gas money and lunch money I spent, hey that 12 hour day no longer made sense. Let's not forget this office is in New England, which means lots of snow! Even on the days the cities close due to inclement weather Melissa will still send her reps out, even though the roads haven't been plowed and city officials deemed it hazardous to go outside! Maybe if you're lucky that day she'll end the day at 3.
There are plenty of sites that can give you inforamtion on these companies and some of them will compare the offices to cults. Every morning and evening each office engages in atmosphere. This is simply a place where all employees must keep a positive attitude and teach or learn the system. Don't try telling people that you had a hard day though, or that someone was rude, or that you spent $8.00 for lunch and $20.00 on gas and didn't make any money that day so now you're $28.00 in the hole for the day. These statements will only be met with another employee ushering you away from any new hires and telling you that negatives aren't discussed in the company, EVER!
I know it seems appealing when you're sitting across from Melissa and you're hearing about the opportunity and you think that as long as you work hard and put your all into it that you can make it, but as sad as it is it is only a dream. I know I was tangled in the web of lies for too long, and worked every day to the fullest, but I eventually realized Melissa and Sunodia are just as bad as all the other Cydcor branches you hear about. Melissa will seem as if she truly cares about you, when in actuality all she wants to know is what can you do for her.
