PurGreen, aka ProUltraTrim
I am very diligent at reading Term and Conditions and ANYTIME I see an automatic renewal of a membership, I rarely agree to continue.
In this case, I did agree to pay the shipping and handling charges of the trial but didn't see any verbiage in the T&Cs suggesting they would automatically charge a monthly fee following.
Upon receiving an additional bottle, I checked my checking account to see if there was a charge - which there was for $93.69.
I immediately called the company on (760) 563-7014 and spoke to a CSR named Kim - who said the terms clearly show a repeated charge if not cancelled within 14 days.
After telling her I never agree to terms like that, it became clear this was going to be a he said/she said battle.
So, I canceled my account and asked for an e-mail confirmation (which they declined to offer, simply saying I need to all back if I see another charge.)
I then called my Check Card Company/Bank to open a dispute.
Be forewarned though - your bank will want to replace your card with a new one that has a different 16 digit number - meaning anything you have auto charged to that card number will need to be changed as well.
I'll believe my PurGreen account is dead when I actually see no charge on my next bank statement.
I have rechecked PurGreen's web site and the T&C do show some verbiage referencing an auto charge on going now. But I stand by my history of rarely agreeing to these types of agreements. So, either I didn't read the T&Cs or the old ones that were up did not reference these charges.
There's no date on the current T&Cs. Perhaps someone realized that verbiage was missing in the old T&Cs
