Probable Scam: I'm Winnerof New Auto & $550,000.00
Consumer Report

I was called @ 15:20 by David Johnson from 876/809-7366, who said that he was UPS delivery service. He told me that he had a new car to me as winner of some Publisher's Clearing House drawing or contest (?) & also that I would be recieving a sum of money. He advised thatI must call ASAP to Josh Kennedy @ 876/576-0561 ext 5 to confirm winnings & time for delivery of new car. At 15:25 I called Mr. Kennedy. He inquired whether I had ever registered w / PCH: yes, 20 - 25 years ago (?). He then advised me that I had been selected as winner [of what contest or? ] of a new car (2013 Dodge Journey @ cost of $27,000 /-) & a certified cashier's check for $550,000.00. He toldme that I must drive to the nearest WalMart "right now" to get some sort of registration or some swort of authorization; I believe he said to make a purchase & have receipt w / approval stamp, or something, & have it authorized @ service desk @ WalMart, to present upon delivery of car & cashier's check to confirm something or other (?) IRS forms of some kind. I old him numerous times that I couldn't/wouldn't go to WalMart ASAP, w / numerous insistance by him to urge me to go to WalMart. I asked him about "surprise" w / PCH winners, whereupon he told me that it was a new procedure for this particular contest, whatever. NOTE: throughout our conversation I was having difficulty understanding him because of his accent& his speaking fairly fast & I told him so a few times; he said that he was hoarse. He asked me to confirm my name, told him Larry Hale; confirm my address, tol himonly Fayetteville AR. He then asked if I hada bank: yes; asked if i had any debit &/or credit cards: yes. He then began to delve further into my financil info & gave him none. At that point I really brgan to get MORE skeptical about the legitimaecty of this offer. I asked him where he was located: New York. He then tried to get info, etc. From me: unsucessful. I understand that he told me that I needed to accept or decline this offer& itwould be presrnted to the next person on the winning lineup. I declined 3 - 4 times & I finally got fed-up & hung up. Also, I'd asked him howhe had gotten my phone # & I never could fully understand him clearly. So he carried on emphatically trying to get info from me & telling me about the "winnings". NOTE; David Johnsonhad initially called me on my cell phone # which, to my knowledge, is only known by family & friends, bank, creditors, landlord, etc & not pubically listed. So, apparently SOMEBODY is selling my privacy & personal credibility, etc??? Later I got out the phone directory & found that area code "876" is assigned to Jamaica, which partially explains why I had difficulty understanding Mr. Kennedy. Please advise me to do regarding my personal & financial data. Also, should I inform the Arkansas Democrat& Gazette ofthis possible/probable SCAM targeting the citizens. Further, early in the conversation whenI was having considarable difficulty understanding his aaccent, I asked him what country he was from, he only replied that he was an American citizen. So, I am hopeful that ya'll will give this matter some attention. Thanks & my highest regards. L. Tim Hale @ (Personal Information Removed) cell # (Personal Information Removed)
