This is a story about how Northwood Realty and west penn financial services ripped me off. Sorry if it's a little jumpy I was so enraged after they ripped me off I just went on a tangent:)
Short version on how west penn financial scammed me...
I was pricing around for a home loan for my first house here in Pittsburgh and had the unpleasant experience of using Northwood realty to acquire it. I originally went through the company suggested by Northwood (West Penn Financial) and the company advertised that if they couldn't get me the loan then I would not need to pay a cent but I needed to give a few hundred dollars hand money incase I did go through them and I was assured 3 separate times that the check would not be cashed unless they can get me the loan and I o.K.'d it first. Well you guessed it, West Penn Financial cashed the check and took a percentage of the money for themselves for wasting their time on me and refused to give a refund and said they never claimed they wouldn't cash the check... Now keep in mind I check rates with 5 different companies other then west penn financial and all required a check for hand money but only West Penn Financial (the ONLY place that didn't approve me for a loan by the way) cashed their check and charged for their ridicously below par services and treated me like I was leper because I didn't qualify for a loan from their company and refused to give me back my hand money and stole it from me... Bottom line, don't use Northwood realty or West Penn Financial!!!

Here's how West Penn Financial and Norwood reality plotted to steal my money and how they are plotting to get yours...
West Penn Financial and Northwood realty are both owned by the same guy and Northwood realty suggests to all of their customers that they go through West Penn Financial for their home loans and even have their reps use Northwood's office as a place for them to hold meetings for the loans. I gave West Penn Financial a chance to get me a loan FIRST before I shopped around at other companies and
Did I mention that I was even going to night classes to get my real estate license through Northwood until they pulled this slimy underhanded stunt? I was working on a impressive real estate website where I spent hundreds of hours building and optimizing to make sales for them (screen shots below) but ended up dropping out after they decided to blatantly lie and steal right in front of my face with an attitude of (We're a big company and your not... Do whatever you want kid) Which I did... I'm building a website to educate the world about the injustices I've occurred from West Penn financial and NorthWood real estate services.
Wait, Northwood real estate services and west penn financial must have stole thousands from you to spend all this time and money on a website to educate others. Right?
Nope, the number in question is only $109!!! West Penn Financial in Pittsburgh refuses to refund the sum of $109 to make a would-be customer happy.
$109 is not a lot of money why not just move on with your life and chalk it up to a life lesson...
It's the principle of the thing to be quite honest... I feel like I was treated like a nobody and was continually humiliated by both Northwood realty services and West Penn Financial. I'm sure many of you visitors know the frustration I'm talking about especially those of you online trying to find a real estate agent in Pittsburgh or anywhere western Pennsylvania make.
Did any one thing put you over the edge
Yes, when I called after telling the president I was ripped off he told me he would look into it and never called me back and I've made several calls over the following week and I still haven't gotten a response. However the president did tell me that when West Penn Financial prices a home loan THEY DO CHARGE A FEE!!! But when you call and ask a rep they tell you There is no fee if we can't get you a loan AND there is no fee if you decide not to go through West Penn Financial Yes, THEY STILL claim this if you call them and ask... How low is this... Does Northwood Realty and West Penn Financial really think they can get away with this forever with no one catching on? Do they think everyone is just going to roll over
Why would West Penn Financial say one thing on the phone and practice something out.
Things both Northwood Real Estate Services and West Penn Financial did to continually degrade me as a human being...
* Dodged my phone calls putting me on perma-hold any chance they got...
* Played the good old he said she said game and gave me the complete run around
* Falsely advertised and STILL falsely advertise
Other unhappy Northwood Real Estate customers (Note: I can not verify these statements they have all been emailed to me over the last few months, you would be shocked at how many people this Northwood-West Penn Financial scam actually worked on):
Great site, I couldn't help nodding my head when reading through your site, I dealt with both Northwood Reality services and West Penn Financial and they pulled the same exact stunt for $96... Glad to see that someone's defending the little guy
I had a very similar experience when I purchased a home through Northwood a few months ago. They suggested that I go through West Penn financial and of course I did and next thing you know they took over one hundred dollars hand money and refused to give it back although they said their wouldn't be a charge...
I've bought 3 houses over the last few years and always went through my bank for the loan but my bank closed up and I decided to go with the company my Northwood rep suggested and sure enough West Penn Financial couldn't get me a loan and charged me somewhere around $200 for processing fee's... I never went through either company again and bad mouth them both whenever I get the opportunity too. Keep up the good work!

Right now I'm checking into the legalities of posting the pictures and names of both the West Penn Financial reps and Northwood reps that ripped me off but I have to check into the legalities first.

Search engine optimization = $40 a month
Letting the world know how big of rip offs Northwood Reality services and West Penn Financial are = Priceless
