This was quite a clever scam which we nearly fell for. We were looking for a Bengal kitten and a local contact said she had recently moved to Thailand but could ship the kittens to us and we would only have to pay for the transport.
She e mailed photos of herself (supposedly) her baby, her husband and with the kittens.
We agreed to take two of the kittens, the lady was very pushy to get this done so urgently, that we were suspicious. Plus her use of English seemed strange.
The shipping company telephoned (from Thailand?) and contacted us by e mail but it didn't come to our in box, it went to the spam file! We checked out this company on the web and found so many reports of money paid and undelivered (non existing) pets!
Whew! Nearly lost HK$3,600 - It was a clever and quite elaborate scam - check out the company before paying any money.
