My mother, Stella Wright, a senior citizen, borrowed a large amount of money ($10,100.00) to replace her damaged roof on her home in Harrisburg, IL from Rick Bradley of Bradley Construction. She is on a very tight budget and paid Rick Bradley to put a metal roof, facia, soffit vented vinyl, and guttering was put on by a subcontractor; however, Mr. Bradley was suppose to replace all damage boards before covering with facia and soffit vented vinyl in October. Unfortunately, this January, Harrisburg had an ice storm and a large section of the guttering fell down and revealed the board under the soffit was totally rotted. My mother called Mr. Bradley and he said he would come and take a look. After his brief examination he said he would fix it for $150.00!!! She explained that if he replaced the rotted board like he was suppose, the weight of the ice on the gutter would not have pulled loose the gutter. He refused to make it right and she got another bid ($50.00) and is going to have them fix the damage. Two other professionals have said that the gutter did fall due to not enough support to because of the rotten board. She just wants to warn other people that Rick Bradley is not an honest nor trustworthy person and does not want other to hire him and possibly end up with sloppy work like hers and be taken advantage of.
