I was considering opening a money market account with Ally Bank as they indicated a very good rate of. 95%. I looked at all the info, clicking on various tabs at their website. Eventually going through the process required of giving them all sorts of personal info for myself & my wife (SS#'s, mother's maiden names, addresses, etc). Then got a very long contract thing to read which I did not. After clicking next, I received a message stating that I had to call them at a specific number so I did. Then I was told I had to remove the freeze I placed on one of my credit reporting agencies in order to proceed.

BOY! Did that pi* me off! I'm going to put my money into their bank, I'm not borrowing money from them. They should let those applying to put money into their bank IN ADVANCE that their credit will be checked FIRST right up front BEFORE giving them all our personal info. Then the first rep told me that my personal info would be kept for up to a year. So I asked for a supervisor. She told me that the fastest would be 90 days. I want to be assured that my info will be expunged IMMEDIATELY!!!

She did direct me to a contact form which I filled out & sent but nobody has as yet contacted me.
