This is to express our experience with A Baskin Robins outlet (Baskin Robins Outlet, TIN No. 32071699719, Kochi, Marine Drive) at Marine Drive in Kochi (opposite Hotel Taj Residence). We (nine of us – 4 adults and 5 children) on this Christmas night saw the Baskin Robins Outlet open and drove in to have some ice cream. Being Baskin Robins, we had some expectation but sadly the person managing the outlet was sitting with his friends and chatting and was not pleased with the midnight customers he received. The outlet was open and he could not say it was closed as he admitted that the shop was still open.
We ordered our ice cream one by one and after about taking 4 different ice cream cups, we asked him for a taste of a chocolate flavour for which his reply was that he is tired and has no time tonight!!! He mentioned that he could not give any Toppings and we had to take our ice creams without much choice. No Taste or Toppings!!! Was this the real Baskin Robins outlet or a one with the false board? We paid the amount he mentioned and let the shop.
It should be true that the owner of this Franchise might not be aware of what was happening in his shop but the impression that we left a Baskin Robins outlet was a unforgettable one especially on a Christmas night. Any outlet would only be too happy to receive a crowd as this would get them more business but certain employees not sincere will always spoil the brand and the business just to chat with his friends.
We walked out of this outlet with a bad feeling and all in the group agreed that this Baskin Robins outlet had spoiled the Christmas night. Brands like Baskin Robins should screen the application when they come forward for their franchise as these kind of outlets spoil the BRAND that is built with care and efforts through all these years.
