Swearing never to join an affiliate/network marketing company many years ago, a YouTube video caught my eye with a very charismatic guy by the name of Michelangelo Lopez. I joined Empower Network under Lopez and his wife Lina in December 2012. I thought... If I'm going to join this thing, what better way to get the attention of prospects by using this character (Michelangelo) and his "preacher" like style of communicator. Plus, I liked his different angle on getting sign-ups - offer people "tools" to success first, then hit them up with your Empower Network offer after you gain their trust. I thought the Niche Ad Generator Pro was a cool piece of software to give away FREE to get in the door, but at the same time I knew it was total bullshit and it was more "fluff" than anything else. I was OK promoting it because it was different... And I thought, harmless. Every "newbie" thinks Craigslist is the way generate leads without a budget... So, why not offer them the ultimate "carrot" and bring them in.
Shortly after joining I watched my first Craigslist posting webinar that Michelangelo puts on for his team periodically. He usually starts off his webinars with 80's tunes blaring in the background and his usual unorganized goofy antics. "This webiinar is about how you can post on Craigslist in different cities." Great! This will close the deal for prospects I thought. About midway through the webinar Michelangelo tells us what we need to do this - Hide My Ass (IP changing software) and several Gmail accounts. He then begins to place an ad in San Diego for a Clickbank offer for cheap airline tickets. This ad totally disgusted me... And I'm sure others. Everything was a lie, "I've got two Southwest Airline Tickets... Wife can't fly!" Totally made up names, made up story and several gmail accounts with false identities while hiding his IP address to circumvent Craigslist.
After he successfully created the ad and everything worked, he went crazy pumping his fist chanting, "who's the best!", "who's the best! He really "got off" on it... It was sickening.
He then came up with several other bonuses for his team; TRS9900 mailer (which is simply an email blaster), The Elite List Puller (harvests email addresses in Google in any niche) The Social List Puller (harvests email addresses in social media) After using these list pullers to harvest email addresses in the niche desired, you're then told to use the email blaster to blast out your email with EN links to thousands of unsubscribed individuals - TOTAL SPAMMING!
Once, Michelangelo gave away 250,000 data (leads) from Nextmark as a bonus for signing up. These leads were purchased by Michelangelo for a ONE TIME use only for one of his subsequent personal mailing. Here's the kicker, during a webinar Michelangelo bragged that when he purchased those leads he only bought 25,000 and an office personnel at Nextmark accidentally added a ZEREO and he was sent 250,000! He laughed is ass off and said, Well, someone lost their job!" What a rat, not only did he F*%$ the company, he was giving away 250K leads to many members of his team to be used with the bonus email blaster. Remember, when you purchase any email list it's to be used one time only.
Here's another quick story; shortly after I joined Michelangelo sent us all an "URGENT" video message begging us to help his daughter with a fund raiser for school. He asked us to send $20 to his paypal account and in return, we would receive Pizza Hut coupons for our donation. We did it from the goodness of our heart to help this little girl out. To this date (5 months past) I've never seen a thing nor has Michelangelo mentioned anything about it. It no big deal but just another example of what a total sociopath scammer this guy is.
Michelangelo is a total scammer and will do and say anything to make money. He teaches SPAMMING to his Empower Network Team - PERIOD! And I am ashamed to be have been a part of his team. It is in my opinion that Michelangelo is very bad for the future of Empower Network and may even be the catalyst that brings the network down. After all, when you become a target of the FTC or any of the "powers that be", there's NO amount of money or legal aid that can help you. I know a little something about this as well.in late 80's through 1999 I was the King of Biz OPP offline. Whereas, these clowns in Empower Network today are making $50, $60, $100K per month - I was making $60 - $70K PER DAY! And also thought I was invincible. A three and a half year stay at a Federal Prison Camp changed my way of thinking:)
I'm very surprised Michelangelo and his shenanigans over the last seven years haven't caught the attention of the Florida authorities. Florida is usually on top of that. I hope those two "clowns" at Empower Network realize that Michelangelo is a cancer, and this cancer is leaving a wound just big enough for the "powers that be" to crawl inside.
