ACS Incorporation
Fake debt collection, legal threats. Similar initials as legitimate agency

I received an alarming email from this bogus debt collection agency. The "ACS" portion of their name is very similar to a legitimate debt collection agency, one I had worked with recently to address student loans. My gut reaction, before carefully reading the email, was one of sickening anxiety.

In recent months I have been working hard to resolve my debts, and was able to avoid wage garnishment — but it was a close call! So this sort of panic-inducing trickery is especially wicked, I think.
