Paid for websites and assistance setting up, no help or sites, more costs ahead, no results Internet

Paid two hundred dollars for multiple websites and e-book products for sale on websites.
Can't get assistance from their three help line numbers. Operator (when finally reached) doesn't answer questions and says the program incurs more costs up to one thousand dollars and wait for call back. Thought this was a llegitimate way as advertised to make extra income from home by selling useful products 24/7. Web site was given to me by a trusted friend. Must check whether scam from now on.
