I entered into a contractual agreement with simply stephanies for a website, database, and seo services. Stephanie talked like she could actually do what she promised, but obviously that was not the case. She totally flaked out on me, never delivered the site, and cancelled the contract 3 months after it was due and told me that she would not refund my several thousand dollar deposit. So I had to travel from Florida to Denver for my day in court, and I prevailed.
Now she owes me a judgement plus 8% daily interest. I had a process server deliver interrogatories to her, but she intentionally avoided being served (carefully documented by process server), which brought the process server's bill to over $500.00. Now she owes me that, too.
Adams County Court told me that "the defendant" (stephanie) has to complete the interrogatories to show where her cash and assets are, so the Sheriff can take possession of the assets and/or funds in bank accounts to satisfy the judgement. She never completed the interrogatories, so now I am in the process of filing a "Motion for Contempt", which would require the defendant to again appear in court with the completed interrogatories. Then the Sheriff can do his job. If the defendant does not appear, a warrant will be issued for her arrest for contempt of court.
I think some time behind bars would be perfect.
