On 12 Feb. one of our administrative assistant ordered ordered Windows XP Professional and Office 2003 Professional software from NevadaSoftware using their online site. When the subject software was received on 17 Feb. we noticed that the package contained 2 CD's and that was all. Upon further inspection of the website, we found (at the bottom of the information site) that this software did not offer any support from the manufacturer.
On that same day, we e-mailed the company and advised them that we wished to return the software. The website clearly states that there is a 30 day return policy on all unopened software. The website (in red ink) advises: We do not accept returns without and RMA number. We received an e-mail from the company telling us to return the software. There was no RMA number. We contacted them via e-mail again and they sent us an e-mail which states: Just inluce a copy of this email as an rma and return to address on our website, signed Software Nevada.
Being just slightly suspicious, we did return the software, but sent it via the USPS with a delivery record and then we tracked the software. It was received at the address listed on 21 Feb. 2004. The assistant had used our corporate AmEx card for the purchase and she contacted AmEx immediatley to advise them that we would only be paying the shipping, which was $5.95, not the full amount of $445.85.
Yesterday we received a call from AmEx advising us Nevada Software told them that they never received the software. We immediately sent AmEx copies of all correspondence, billing, and proof of delivery of software to Nevada Software. Be very careful when dealing with this company and document everything!
