Fusion Labs 4, Fusion Laboratories Inc fraud - $89.99 charge to debit, website gives dummy contact info. CONTACT 1-866-925-2123 FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE & CREDIT, they know they're a scam

My bank summary noted a "Check Card Purchase" from Fusion Labs 4 for $89.99. I've never heard of Fusion Labs before; I hadn't signed up for free samples, hadn't received free samples, and definitely hadn't given them my card number.

I'm a student and $89.99 is essentially a textbook, so I repeatedly called every phone number provided by fusionlabs.net and became well acquainted with their answering machines. The phone was never answered by a person, not even Ken McLellan.

When I phoned the bank to whine about being defrauded, I mentioned Fusion Labs and was immediately asked if I'd tried the "1-866 number." (Fusion Labs Customer Service later suggested that the bank replied so quickly because the company's phone number appears on the summary. This was after Customer Service told me that Fusion Labs is "the billing company" and CS manages many companies. It doesn't make sense to me that Fusion Labs would be responsible for billing but let CS deal with the banks.)

Dial 1-866-925-2123 and you reach the very friendly, apologetic Customer Service rep. I introduced myself by politely accusing her of fraud, and she had to ask exactly which company I was talking about; again, CS apparently works for a lot of companies. CS also seems used to dealing with angry people who want their money back.

A year or two ago, I fell for an internet scam — miracle diet pills for just $2.99, which a "local" reporter raved about in a seemingly legit online article. (Basically, I fell for cookies.) I never received the pills but was charged $2.99, plus an additional $69.99 in some sort of membership fee. I did get my money back and had the membership dropped, but I had a different email address then, the same email Fusion Labs listed with my card. Since then, I've only entered my card number into secured databases; I cannot think of any other way Fusion Labs might have gotten my information.

When I called this time, I was already preparing to file a report with IC3 - but the CS rep offered to credit me for the charges. She told me that the confirmation email takes about a workday (or 22 hours) to arrive and I can contact Fusion Labs with any questions. I'm still waiting on that email.
