Posted our info on their "website" without permission and now a debt collection letter was mailed to us

The company I manage received a letter in the mail from ACA Recovery, Inc. I see that our company is not the only one that received this letter from "Mr. Cutler." The letter reads that we owe GOYELLOWPAGESONLINE.com $574.00.

Approximately 2 years ago, I was downright harrassed from these internet companies that turned out to be scams. I am sure that this is one of the "companies" that contacted me, and they would always say that the ad was coming to a close, so would I like to renew the ad, or close the ad and pay the final amount of such-and-such. Well, I would tell them to close/discontinue the ad, and the BIG mistake that I made was I actually paid a lot of the amounts. After the same companies called again, I started thinking something wasn't right, so I would write down the name of the company and the date that I closed the ad. Then, when the same company would call, I could tell them the date that I closed the ad and the amount that I had paid. They, of course, would act like it hadn't been closed.

Well, I now know that none of the so-called ads were ever ordered to begin with. A salesman from the ACTUAL, HONEST yellow pages told me that these scammers will go off of their website, create their own website, and copy and paste your ad, without your permission, then act like someone from your company ordered it, and say you owe them money.

Anyways, this was one of those companies, and I did NOT order anything through them, but the debt collector, Mr. Cutler, needs us to "notify his office within 30 days after receiving the notice that we dispute the validity of the debt or any portion of it, or their office will assume the debt is valid." Well, they will get their letter alright, and I recommend that if this happens to anyone else, you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I am going to do that right now, and an attorney from the FTC has been helping me with these scammers.
