Despite a slick TV ad on Discovery Science, this company operates a rogue website that downloads an immense amount of self generating malware and hijacks your compuiter.innocently, after seeing the ad I went to the website for a "free scan" of my computer that was supposed to identify infections and speed up the computer.
Immediately, my Windows firewall was irreparably rendered inoperative. My computer would not respond to commands and I received numerous popups telling me I have an infection. Then my computer went —on its own — to the company's website telling me to buy their software to fix the mess they created! After that 2 porn sites popped up on my screen.
I did not buy the product they said would fix my computer. I feared what they would do with my credit card number and what othr malware they would send. So far, an IT guy was unable to repair my computer at my home, even after removing 270 pieces of malware. He told me that the infection has gone deep into the registry and as malware is removed it generates another piece to replace it, My computer is going to the IT shop for further repair.
My AVG software completely failed to protect me. I checked yhe company's contact info and discovered it is in the UK. This is going to cost me $ to fix my computer. Be aware and do not fall for this website's trap.
