Ripoff Extortion through RMA's by selling defective products, Motherboard Nightmare All this garbage over a mobo that Bzboyz states is only worth $43.00 refundable

I have built 11 computers since my first Cyrix 586-120mhz puter, so I am not a complete newb on getting systems up and running. If I don't have a solution, I actively search out helpful information, but in this instance, the problem was obvious in my opinion: Faulty Motherboard.

I had ordered a M7VIT Pro/AMD 2600 / AMD approv. HeatSink Combo from Bzboyz on a Saturday morning. Monday morning, I received a call from a representative that was inquiring whether or not I wanted to a 3 year warranty on the AMD CPU for $18.00. I thought about it for a second because I did purchase an extra year warranty on the Mobo (but I didn't pay for a pre-test) and then agreed to the additional charge.

Within a week, I received my order and inspected the packages, I noticed that the BioStar box was not factory sealed and the Mobo Static bag didn't have any kind of sticker or seal either. I thought that was unusual, but maybe it was a company inspection over-sight.

I immediately started building my computer, everything was new except the Sound Card, CD-RW, Floppy and Hard-Drive which already had a working Win98 OS on it, but was stripped of old drivers and prep drivers were on the C:.installed the periphials in the order AMD recommended (always have, always will), went to BIOS to configure and then let Win98 boot-up.

Well, to make a long story short and after a few hours of frustration, I could not get ANY of my AGP cards to set up. I even formatted my C: to eliminate any registration conflicts and did a fresh load of Win98SE. Still, no AGP set up.

I decided to send the mobo back to Bzboyz and started packing the mobo for shipment, but after a visual inspection, I noticed that the AGP and DIMM contact tines were severely depressed, almost to the point that it was any wonder there was contact at all.

At that point, it was apparent that Bzboyz had sent me a used and defective motherboard.

I filed for an RMA and gave a brief description of the problem and then sent Bzboyz the mobo, which cost me $8.00 UPS, insured.

I received an acknowledgement of RMA from Bzboyz and they requested that I select an RMA option on how I would like to handle the RMA. Either way, it was going to cost me a MINIMUM of $5.00 plus $12.00-$25.00 shipping unless they did find something wrong with the board (then it would be free). BUT, if they didn't find anything wrong with the board, they would bill me $25.00 plus $12.00-$25.00 shipping. What do you think will be Bzboyz conclusion?

All this garbage over a mobo that Bzboyz states is only worth $43.00 refundable.

I still haven't received a new board, or heard any status of my claim. And they have my Credit Card number too. Ouch!!!
