I was searching for a an old friend and Intelius was at the top of the search engine. I went to the site and they said they were having a. 95 cent sale for a look up of one person for their name and address. I made sure I avoided all other charges they kept telling me I could get more information for 4.95 or 10.95 or however much information I wanted. All I wanted was a current address and phone number which was supposedly. 95 cents. I never thought I signed up for a subscription for $19.95 a month. Who needs to look up 25 people a month? Who knows that many people who they need to check up on. I was checking my credit card statement to see if they had received my payment when I saw the charge for $19.95, I was stunned and pissed off to say the least. When I went to the Intelius site there was ANOTHER charge for $19.95 that was charged a week later, but had not hit my credit card yet. I actually had a good experience with their customer service and received my money back, but beware if you have dealings with this company be prepared to have extra charges on your credit card statement. I talked to a lawyer and he told me they use psychologists to write their websites to be deceiving and misleading. I have learned my lesson to check online companys before doing business with them.
