Ripoff - Debited money from my checking account without conset or authorization. America On Line/Credit Alert

I was with AOL for two weeks, but could find a local acess network, so I had to cancel. I found one later, three months later the debited my checking account without authorization I called and cancelled my account, but they took money from me. How can they be stopped?
