Verotel
Ripoff internet fraud consumer fraud unethical business practices

Verotel is a company that does internet billing for Prescriptionsense.com

When you go to the website for Prescriptionsense and click on platinum membership it will ask you what you wanted to do for billing. The first box is to pay by credit card and you select what you what type of membership you want.

1 Month for $25.00
3 Month for $60.00
6 Month for $75.00

I went to Prescriptionsense in November to check out there website and decided to try it for 1 month only because I wanted to help my mom find pharmacies out of the US because medicine is expensive for my dying father. I cleary selected 1 month of billing because I knew I would not want to use it past that.in January I was checking my e-mail and I received a letter from Verotel thanking me for continuing my membership with them and that $25.00 would be debited from my account.

I called them immediatly and told them that I only selected 1 month and that I did not authorize them to take any more out of my account, the woman told me that she saw that it was only suppose to be 1 month and told me that my money would be put back into my account within 4 days. Actually it took them 17 days to put it back into my account.

The worse part about this was I had 3 checks out no bigger that $5.00 each and when they took the $25.00 out my account it made them bounce which gave me 3 returned check fee's (actually 6 now that the bank has tried to put them back through) at $32.00 each plus $5.00 a day in negative fee. Now my account is minus $292.00 (that's -$192 in returned check fee's and -$100.00 because of $5.00 a day negative fee)

I kept calling there sales department and they would always tell me that they weren't the person to talk to and they would have someone call me, even though nobody ever did. I finally asked for the highest person I could talk to or send a e-mail too and I was given the owners email address which is [email protected]. I did not hear back from him and I finally got a call from a woman who couldn't even help me, she kept telling me that it wasn't there problem even though they shouldn't have taken the $25.00 out of my account. I asked her for the name of someone I could talk to and she gave me the email address to a woman named Amy. I sent her a e-mail to explain the whole situation and she sent me a e-mail back and told me that and I quote "When you processed your initial payment in November, it was NOT for a one time payment".

Well, this was a lie right there because there are only 3 billing options which I have stated above and anyone can go to PrescriptionSense.com and check it out for themselves. If I would have choosen 3 months then they would have taken out $60.00 and if I would have done 6 months they would have taken out $75.00

She also said and I qoute "If you look at the "User Agreement" part of the website that you purchased access to, at http://www.prescriptionsense.com/agreement.Asp, you will see that there is a clear statement of recurring billing". Which is funny because if there is recurring billing then why does it only have the 3 selections? It is cleary misleading because you think you are paying for 1 month and then they start taking money out 2 months later without your knowledge, yes that's right because after they took the money out in November they didn't take any money out in December but they decided to take it out in January and sent me a letter that said thank you for continuing to stay with our company and your bank account has charged. Funny, I don't remember calling them or sending them e-mail saying "Hey I want you to keep taking money out of my account and to go beyond the 1 month I agreed to do".

Then she said and I qoute "All memberships are automatically renewed at the end of the their term. Example: A Member joins on the 17th of the month, his/her membership will automatically be renewed the 17th at the end of their term". Why doesn't it say that right after you have selected that you only want to do a 1 MONTH MEMBERSHIP.

Then she says and I qoute "All disputes will be followed up by a request to pay for the original membership fee, along with the $15 chargeback fee incurred by PrescriptionSense.com. You will have a ten day grace period in which to send a money order or cashier's check in the full amount, or our collection attorney's will take your file and proceed further in the court of law. Just remember that this charge will show up on your credit card from a company called Verotel." So now she is telling me because I didn't authorize them to take the money out of my account and I have disputed it that I must pay them another $25.00 and a $15.00 chargeback fee which I have 10 days to pay, so because they frauded me they want to take more money from me plus if I don't want to pay it theie collection attorneys will sue me because I disputed them taking money out of my account even though I selected 1 MONTH ONLY. Amy even had the nerve to tell me that since I was rude to the lady who called me (which I feel I had the right too because of being ignored and given the run around) that and I qoute "this all means that Verotel, did not defraud you in any way. Her message was clear that it was my fault that I was billed beyond the 1 month I had selected and she cleary lied when she said "it was NOT a 1 time payment" which was a bold lie because as I said you can go to Prescriptionsense.com and see the choices, and if I would have selected anything but 1 month I would have been charged more.
