Founder, Eddie Williams Commited Credit Card Fraud To Help Run His Company

I am the orginal co-founder and creative mind behind Knot Just Yet. Eddie Williams and I began to work toward getting this business off the ground; ie. Designing the website, making business contacts for vendors, filing for articles of incorporation, looking for insurance, and applying for a business credit card.

Insurance for this type of business is incredibly expensive because anyone making arrangements, especially across state lines, for products or services to be used by a client is liable for any incidents involving the client. That is what would have made the business unique from every other party planner, save one, in the country. This was strike one.

We agreed to try and move forward with the business without insurance, hoping that nothing would happen until we could afford to pay the very high premiums - the insurance company told us that if we were in business for over a year without any incidents then the premiums would not be as high.

The next step was to obtain a business credit card to pay for the products and services that we would use for our clients. We would also authorize our ushers to pay for products and services as needed during events - everything in writing and above board.

We applied for an American Express Business card and were turned down because of Eddie's poor credit rating. I didn't need a strike three at this point because the nature of the business cannot be executed without the use of a credit card to pay for things we needed. This was over four years ago.

Eddie and I parted ways and have not had contact since then.

I received a call from Bank of America six days ago informing me that I am listed as a Guarantor on a credit card for Knot Just Yet and that they are four months overdue for a ridiculously high balance. At no time did I authorize anyone to open a credit card in my name (Eddie used my nickname to open the account). I am told this is a felony.

I tried to call the number on the website (disconnected) and wrote a few emails informing Eddie that he needed to have me removed from all affiliation with his company or I would be filing fraud charges. No response.

I filed fraud charges with the credit card company today and am awaiting further information from them so I can file a police report against Mr. Williams. At no time when I was affiliated with Knot Just Yet were we a viable business; we had no tax id number, we had not booked a single event, nor had we purchased any inventory.

Had I anything to do with this company I would have been required to pay taxes for income generated from being a partner. I find it hard to believe, hearing this from the credit card company themselves, that a credit card can be obtained online with any signature of approval. Beware of any dealings with Knot Just Yet or Eddie Williams of Washington, DC.
