Unauthorized charges appeared on my telephone bill. I contacted the company, ILD Enterprises, spoke with a customer representative, and complained about the unauthorized charges.
He said that I had used a four digit passcode (my birthdate!) to authorize a monthly charge of $30.85 to my phone bill for Internet Yellow Page services.
I never authorize ANYTHING over the phone. I hate telemarketers, if indeed they even DID call. I cancelled whatever charges they had already racked up on my phone bill and received an authorization code for the cancellation.
I then called my phone company and had the charges removed and added a service (for free) called a 'cramming charge block'.
I will now report the company to my local governmental agency (the name of which was provided me by my phone company—it varies state to state).in Maryland it is the Maryland Public Service Commission.
