Scammed by New Horizons CLC - Untaught, Unfulfilled, Unsatisfied

New Horizons CLC, not just locally, but finding to be nationally, is a "certified" scam. Their "student loans" and "guarantees" of success all crash and burn.

Finding New Horizons through CareerBuilder.com, and answering their add for employment, I started my road to deception. Seeing this was not an interview for employment, I was suckered into thinking this was still a good deal to get a "quick" and "cheap" education. As I found later, "quick" and "cheap" both were not the case for this disastrous decision.

Starting the courses with A, I found that the instruction at the Learning Center was not helpful at all. I spent several months on my own trying to learn the curriculum and passed the A certification test.

Then taking the Network course, the instruction given only helped minutely. I was forced again to learn on my own. Realizing that the New Horizons CLC was not a learning center at all, but just a book giver and money drainer, I did not take the test, but attempted to get a return on my money.

I tried over and over to contact my "advisor" to get a refund on courses I did not yet take before I was no longer able. When he finally contacted me back, he said that I was past due the time to get a refund.

The courses cost around $12,000 which were to be paid up-front through a loan through Sallie Mae. They told me the loan would be just like a student loan, so paying the very minimum the first year would be the wisest thing to do. I regretably found a year later this was not like a student loan, and without forbearance nor deferrment, was billed for interest.

Now, after 2 years of frustration, my wife and I have paid over 2 grand and are still owing well more than the principle amount. These loans have gotten us nowhere and so has the schooling.

I realize now that I am not the first to be ripped off by this company. I too was promised employment and a hefty salary with the certifications. Promises are cheap and unfortunately this has become a detriment to my family and is causing financial burden.

We are attempting legal action against such a scam to get the full amount for all the courses, being they were not worth any amount of the money paid. Any help or advice would be great to take on these worldwide masters of deception.

Do not take the advice of these sweet-talkers. Learn on your own and save all the hassle instead of attempting success with these people.
