I logged into my bank account last weekend 6/02/07 only to notice that there was a $100 pending charge to an account I use 99% of the time only for the mortgage payment.
I was like, what in the world is going on here?
Here are the details:
It was an computer generated check like those you use when you pay bills online and send an electronic check. I believe they call it ACH or something like that.
It was made out to Intabill.
The date on the check was 2/28/07. It processed 6/01/07.
My full name was printed on the check in the signature line.
The memo said this, Monthly Auto Payment.
The bank used to process the check was Bank Of America.
I cannot include the account number used to deposit because I've closed the account. SHOOT IT! I simply didn't think to save the info.
So, I called my bank right away Monday morning claim a fraudulent charge. They took care of it without a problem and told me to close it as soon as I could.
I also googled Intabill and brought up Intabill.com. I noticed they are located in Australia. They have a contact box so I sent them an email. Almost immediately I received an answer with a number to call. Here is the to - and - from activity.

I've received a $100 charge to my checking account and the check is made out to your company "IntaBill". It was endorsed by a Bank of America. I received the charge on 6/1/07 and the check has a date of 2/28/07.
I do not recall using 'check withdrawal' (this is not a check I wrote out of my checkbook) for $100 to IntaBill and have therefore contacted my bank's fraud department to investigate.
I would appreciate to hear from you if you have any information that would help me figure out what is going on.
Sincerely,

I couldn't get to the bank until Thursday. What a bum deal so I logged on everyday to check the activity.
Then 6 days later on 6/6/07 there was another charge! Everything was the same except the date on the check. I cannot remember what it was now though.
I was furious to say the least. I know it was my fault because I didn't get to the bank to close the account soon enough.
So, I call my bank again and they put another claim on my account immediately. I have yet to see the $200 refunded back to my account but I figure it will take some time.
This has got to stop!
