In the beginning of May I was searching for a Chihuahua puppy on Puppyfind.com and came across a beautiful little dog and decided to write for more information on it. The owner was listed as Leslie Holland in Crest wood Kentucky. She wrote back, and we communicated in serveral emails. Her site that she had linked to Puppyfind.com as her personal web site, was www.cuddleychichisandmore. Piczo.com.
On this website she had/has listed for excellent prices, Chihuahua's, Dachshunds, Pomeranians and Yorkshire Terriers. There was a parents page to see who the parents of the puppies were and a nursery section of puppies that were going to be coming. Her listing said she had the puppies at reduced prices because she had to go to Ohio and needed to limit her stock. The photos were/are still outstanding the dogs looked excellent... All looked great!
My ex husband was looking for a Pomeranian and he fell in love with a lavender female Pom, so he started to talk with Leslie who's email came as LHewitt which was strange since her name was Holland. She said she would combine shipment for 175.00 extra than the 300.00 each she was asking for the Chihuahua and the pom. ($775.00 total) My ex called her using the phone number she had listed and had several conversations with her.
The puppies were to arrive the day before Mothers Day. She called back to say she wanted the money sent via Wal Mart money gram and she would go ahead and set up a shipping time and date, she also said she had taken the puppies to the vet for their physical. When she went to Walmart to pick up the money she did not have her slip so she called my ex who talked to her while she did the money pick up.
So here it is, Mothers Day came and went and there was no contacting this Leslie. The phone she had been using was registered to a couple that is baffled on how their cell phone could have been used, when it has been in their possession. (The number has been stolen and used on another phone some how) Her sites on Puppyfind were all pulled down (now I know a breeder saw pictures of their dogs and turned her in) There is nothing about this situation that is truthful.
The address we sent the money gram to does not exhist. The phone like I said was a pirated number. The puppies on the web site were all pirated from various breeders, by taking their photos from the webshots web site. The photo used on the main page of this web site is actually a pirated photo of a lady who wrote into another breeder to say how much she loved her dog. There were 4 breeders who's photos were taken that I know of. All are great breeders and well known in their breeding circles. (I have contacted them) The contract page which is a real joke, contains fake addresses, phone numbers etc. The contract itself is copied from a breeder in Ohio's site called Lin-Mar Cockers.
This Leslie has another site up now with some of her real dogs, this site is www.l-msolympuschis. Piczo.com and she continues to list dogs for sale. I have found her listing on Hoobly.com under Kentucky as well! In her new site she has listed several breeders as references, I have contacted most of them only one is upset with what she is doing. One, Newton's Chuby Chihuahua babies, located in Kentucky, run by Denise, has just sold this girl another male dog! Denise is also a moderator for several online chat groups one on MSN.com and one on Yahoo. I have already contacted her with my story, but I guess the almighty dollar is more important to her.
I know I am not the only person out there who has had a run in with this Leslie. Please if you have had contact with her or had this very same problem with her contact the local internet fraud police, or state police in Kentucky. It may not seem like a lot of money, but it really is the principal of the thing. You just don't steal peoples names, photos, phone numbers and money! Everytime I see her pop up with a new web site or on a new site selling puppies it just makes me want her brought to justice all the more!
If you are from Ohio, this is the state where this girl has originated from. She has more than likely targeted people in that state as well and may possibly be working with others who are helping her facilitate this internet fraud puppy scam.
I have already lost my money, my goal here is to be sure Leslie Holland Hewitt is held legally accountable for her actions. I also want others to know of her so they do not have to go through the same aggravation. I now can not have any online dealings, due to this, without having to grill people over the coals. Be aware even the best looking sites could potentially be bogus!
