Fraudulent excessive charges phony Online

A local car dealer was running a promotion. Everyone in town (I suspect) got an ad with "winning numbers" on it, which stated each HAD DEFINITELY WON either $5000 cash, $100 cash, or $1000 internet shopping spree.

Since I did not purchase a car (not in the market), I got the "shopping spree." My first clue that it was not what they implied was that it was a photocopy of the certificate and not an original.

Upon typing in "www.pickyourgifts.org" I was redirected to www.officialshopzone.com.

Oh, I should mention that the 'helpful hints' on the certificate stated that one should not use a search engine to get to the site. I think they knew that sites like this one would come up in such a search.

The so-called SRP (suggested retail price) of the items is so inflated, it isn't even funny. The "credit" the certificate goes toward is the difference between their "SRP" and normal price - which (normal price) is what one is expected to pay (in their "You Pay Only, S&H" section... Which, as they state often, INCLUDES S&H... Not *is*, but *includes*).

There is no "credit" involved in this scam. This is just another site where they want you to pay full price for their cheap junk while (theoretically) thinking you're getting a deal.

They should know that people are smarter than that.
