Billed me ONE year after I canceled membership, questionable billing practices

I am having a great deal of frustration over this internet research website. One year ago, I was double-billed for an account that I had not signed up for, but settled on being refunded for one of the accounts with the condition the other account would not be renewed.

Without approval, an email notification, or anything, my credit card was billed for double what the fee was last year! I found out when I opened my credit card bill, which means I paid for over one month of service (that I did not order) before I found out they were ripping me off.

I have never ordered anything online without receiving a receipt for my purchase. Clearly this firm expects people to rebel against the automatic billing of services (especially since the fee seems to increase enormously year to year) and so they've resorted to being sneaky with it.

Has anyone else had difficulty with them and their billing practices? Last year they said they were willing to refund one of the accounts (both were linked to one email address so it was pretty much a no-brainer that they were getting too excited about double billing people) basically to placate me.

Now I'm too angry to back off and will try to get my credit card company to help me get my money back.

Ugh.

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or
And good luck Let us know how you do! Checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away.in this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge.in rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.

Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure theymake the consumer complaints. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.
