I thought I was paying for one of the better mp3 shareware sights. It sounded good, looked easy to use, and is priced the same as the others.
Then I get an email stating my card was charged an unexpected $14.88 for Spyware I don't need and did not select. I got a password, an order ID# and TheMusicsMembersArea.com/loginv2.Asp email address to click on to "begin enjoying your membership.
I click and discover that I was sent to an Australian sight run by a guy in his spare time, has lots of issues with the malfuctioning of this product and he states on this sight that if I paid for this, I was wripped off because he runs a Freeware service.
Now, in order to use this service I have to download on his sight, which is free. Then I am told that because it is free I must download the program frequently because it is freeware and it expires. But if I make a donation to him, I'll be sent a registration number which means it won't be expiring and I won't need to download again and again.
So, I donated $20.00 foolishly thinking this is legit and not his fault. Now I wonder if he is part of this scam, since I can't download the program.
Unfortunately, I can't find the original sight that led me to TheMusicMembersArea.com. I'm sure it was under another name.
