Ripoff Fraudulent charge to my credit card lied to us as well

Got my credit card statement today, and there's a "CCBill.com" charge on it, followed by an 888 number (not the same # as listed above.)

I have not signed up for anything that would have cost me $29.95; in searching usacomplaints.com while on hold with my credit card company, I see that website memberships and trial this-or-that are their common charges. I have done none of these.

Called the 888 number they listed on the statement beside their charge... It was not in service. So, as I started dialing my credit card company and searching Google and ultimately ending up here, my husband called the 888 # listed above, something I found when Googling 'ccbill.com'

Whomever answered on their end asked for the credit card # again. I am ready to strangle my spouse for giving it out again... But that's neither here nor there. The CCBill.com person on the phone said, "Oh, *credit card company's name here* has already red-flagged this charge, it is being refunded, expect it in 7-10 days." I'm still on hold w/my card company through this and knew they just told him whatever he wanted to hear. These people are professional con artists.

And lo and behold... I get a human on the line (finally) with my credit card people. I first said that their Fraud Protection people never got in touch with me... Why? I already knew the answer... Because CCBill.com's phone rep was completely full of s*t.

I got to bypass Merchant Disputes and the charge was automatically refunded, and the credit card co. Will take it up with CCBill.com from this point forth. Also was talking to the Fraud unit, who took a report as well.

$29.95. Think I'm not going to notice it? Jerks. And in searching this site, I found the following response from one of their employees (It's listed as 'consumer suggestion', but after the crap that was pulled on the phone today by one of their people, this "Wendy" just screams CCBill.com employee):

First off, nice argument, too bad it doesn't hold much water. The card was in my physical possession at all times, so don't try and put the possibility of "others" in my household doing this, nor did I. I know what business *I* conduct... You don't. Nice try though, to try and thwart people's suspicions off your company and onto those around them, but, guess what? I saw right through it, I know oily, slick attempts like your canned response, and can only shake my head as I reread it, wondering if you're that a) pathetic or b) -brave - enough to say things like this offline, not on a phone, if your company ever meets face to face with people. For some reason, I don't think you would. And I'm not dignifying the rest of the 'suggestions' with a response, just the most ludicrous and baseless.

I never contracted with your people, and funny, but my credit card issuer says I'm not the only client of theirs victimized by your company.

So... With that said, hope you enjoyed my $29.95 for the 5 weeks you had illegally taken it from me. It's feeling much better back where it belongs.
