I was fascinated with the huge, enormous low dollar amounts you could successfully win an auction with on real gold and gem jewelry so I thought. I always wanted a tanzanite ring but could not afford it. When I saw one I jumped on it thinking someone would definitely out bid me anyway. It was listed as a $900 dollar ring. I couldn't believe I had gotten it for $900. I had to upsize it and could only do that using a credit card for approximately $25. When I got it I thought how beautiful and it looked so very very good and it sparkled. It was too good to be true. But at the insistance of a family member I took it to a jeweler for an visual before committing myself to an appraisal. He said "Well it's gold, 10 K. The diamond accents are fake and the supposed tanzanite a synthetic tanzanite. You got ripped off! How much did you pay? Well it's a lesson to be learned and thank God that's all you paid".
But I had also purchased some earrings and I showed him a 10K topaz earring and that also was syntetic. He allowed me to see for myself with the little jewelers magnifying glass which showed these straight line markings inside the so called gem. Further discussion it was not worth an written appraissal because that would cost more than what I paid which is what they require to get a refund. I did call my Credit Card company to report it and if they refuse they will take it in dispute. I intend to take this as far as I can in reporting it. I was flubbered by their outright deceit and false advertisement. I have since refused any other packages that are forth coming.
